Do you recommend having my property on with an agent as well as swapproperty?
Yes, we always recommend that your home is marketed in a traditional way with one of our member estate agents. They can accurately value your home, and load your details on to swapproperty. You then have the best of both worlds, High Street Agent AND swapproperty all for just one fee (agreed by yourself and the agent)

What if they like my property, but I don't like theirs?

This is where we can help. We maybe able to arrange a 'multi-swap', with perhaps four properties being part exchanged.

Be Flexible, your part exchange is partly about compromise.

Do I still pay stamp duty?

Afraid so. Stamp duty has to be paid at the appropriate rate on the purchase of the property you are part exchanging with. It has to be paid on the TOTAL price and NOT just the
 difference in values

Do I need a HIP? (Home Information Pack)
 PACKS HAVE NOW BEEN SUSPENDED

If you are selling your property or part exchanging you no longer require a HIP in England/Wales. You will however still require an
Energy Performance Certificate.

When and how do I pay swapproperty? Registration is just £10.00
For a successful part exchange arranged by swapproperty
 we charge a £500.00. COMPLETION FEE ONLY PAYABLE IF WE ARRANGE A SWAP, PART EXCHANGE OR SALE. We invoice your solicitor on exchange of contracts for payment on completion.

Why do you charge anything when other swapping sites are free?

Because we get stuck in. We are there to help. We organize your viewings, negotiate the swap figures, instruct solicitors on your behalf and see the sale through to the very end. We are on hand to help you move

Does my property have to be of the same value to to the one I want to part exchange with?

No you can go upmarket, down market or have a sideways move. Remember of course that if going upmarket you
 will have to provide additional funding, just like a normal purchase transaction.

Are my contact details displayed on the web site?

NO your details are retained by us for your security. We handle all inquiries for you

So how are viewings arranged?
When you find a property that you are interested in you either email or phone us. We then speak to the owners of the property
 you have expressed an interest in to see if they could be interested in yours. If they are WE make all the arrangements for
 both parties. Simple and secure

I don't like negotiating, will you do it?
That's what we are here for. Once you have found a property, and the owners want yours, our part exchange negotiator will sort everything out for both parties. They will put the whole thing in writing to everyone involved, including solicitors

Can I have my property on the market with an estate agent as well as you?

Yes you can, and we would encourage you to do so, but check the small print if you have a SOLE SELLING RIGHTS contract 

What are your terms and conditions?
 You can view our terms and conditions by CLICKING HERE You can instruct a swapproperty member estate agent in your area to market your home, your property will then be made available on the swapproperty web site.

Council Exchanges


We provide a simple listing service for your council or housing association exchange. Your property description, your requirements are listed on the site along with your contact details for potential exchangers to contact you directly. 

It's easy to list your council/housing association property. 


Please note we do not deal with the exchanging process, it is up to individual exchangers to contact their council or housing association 
to agree the terms of an exchange.

Do you list non UK property?

Yes we do. You can create your own listing. We charge a £10.00 listing fee and completion fee of £500.00 only if we arrange a swap/part exchange
