Since 14 December 2007 every home put on the market, no matter what size, must have a Home Information Pack.
It brings together valuable information at the start of the process - such as a sale statement, local searches and
evidence of title - which could save you money, time and stress.
The Pack also includes an Energy Performance Certificate that contains advice on how to cut CO2 emissions and
fuel bills. A graph is generated which must be attached to your property details on any web site you advertise
on, including swapproperty.
You may be able to organize a HIP through your solicitor or you can use our HIP provider
It's simple to do. When you register just click the 'I want to order a HIP from you at a cost of £299' button and our HIP provider will
contact you. They will make an appointment to visit your property to carry out an Energy Performance assessment of your property
Once this is done the pack is created and a copy sent to you and us, making it available for prospective purchasers to view
If you have a HIP already, you need to send us a copy (electronic PDF is ideal via email) or send us a link to where it is stored
Since the 6th April 2009 all properties require a HIP BEFORE marketing can begin.

to ensuring they work as well as possible. "That is why the changes made today will make sure consumers are better protected, better informed and
better assisted when buying a home."It is essential that all buyers are able to see the HIP as early as possible to ensure they are benefiting from this
important information, and that sellers are getting to see the pack they are paying for."Mrs Beckett said that, from 6 April next year, sellers would no
longer be allowed to delay providing a home information pack until after a property goes on the market.
